Thank you to everyone who ventured down to the pub la
st Thursday (1st September) to witness the long awaited unveiling of our new dining room.
The weather held out and over 100 revellers enjoyed free drinks and canapes as well as countless tours of our wonderful new dining room, which was last exposed to the public over a century ago when it played host to the local butcher.
Pub regulars, food and drink suppliers, former landlords and local historians all rubbed shoulders at the event, which also marked Jim and Claire’s 5th anniversary of taking over the pub.
“It’s so nice to have the support of the village,” commented Claire the morning after the night before. “Lots of locals told us we had managed to make the new dining room look like it’s always been there, which is the biggest compliment we could hope for.”
Fellow landlord Jim added, “All the months of hard work have paid off and who better to celebrate with than our rowdy locals. Thanks to them for the brilliant atmosphere… and my sore head.”
The new dining room, which now provides disabled access and disabled toilets, is now open for bookings and private hires.
