We’re thrilled to announce that both The Ebrington Arms, and its sister pub The Killingworth Castle, picked up runner up prizes in this year’s CAMRA Pub of the Year Awards.
The Yubby, as The Ebrington Arms is affectionately known, was awarded North Cotswolds CAMRA Pub of the Year Runner-up and The Killingworth Castle landed the North Oxon CAMRA Pub of the Year Runner-up gong.
The Ebrington Arms has won the coveted Pub of the Year Winner title three times, has been runner-up three times and once picked up the third place gong. This means that, in the our eight year tenure at the pub, we’ve have been recognised as one of the top three pubs in the area seven years in a row.
We were also extremely delighted to receive the accolade for The Killingworth Castle so early into our custodianship. We only reopened the pub in December 2012.
Chairman Of the North OXON CAMRA branch, John Bellinger, said: “We have some fantastic pubs serving great cask ale in North Oxfordshire and the Killy missed out on taking the top spot by the narrowest of margins.
“I for one was impressed, not only by the quality and choice of the ale on offer but by the knowledge and passion of the staff serving it.”
We’d like to say a huge thank you to all of our staff and customers for helping us put of both our lovely pubs on the map.
