Owners, Claire and Jim Alexander and their two year old son, George, were over the moon when the North Cotswolds branch chairman, Roger Price, let the cat out of the bag, commenting that currently no one can keep up with The Ebrington Arms.
Landlady, Claire said; “We never thought we’d get it three years on the trot. We’re chuffed to bits as it shows we’re consistent.
Jim has spent a lot of time perfecting his knowledge of beers over the years and won’t serve a pint if he doesn’t think it’s good enough for the customer.”
Jim added; ‘Ebrington is a really special village with lots of genuine people, including all our staff, we’ve got a really great team working with us. It’s our locals in Ebrington and regulars from the surrounding villages that help keep the pub atmosphere alive so we’re very thankful to those that support us so well.’
The coveted title sees Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) members secretly visit pubs to mark the condition and taste of the real ales, pub service and atmosphere throughout the year.
Martyn Herbert, Pubs & Media Officer for the North Cotswold CAMRA branch, said; “It takes a huge amount of hard work and dedication to stay ahead of the field, especially with such a high number of quality pubs in the area.”
A CAMRA presentation to landlords, Jim and Claire, took place at the pub on Thursday 21st April. The Ebrington Arms will now go through to the next stage to win the regional title for the whole of the South-West.
