Okay, so we’re recognised nationally for our beer, but the champagne’s been flowing this week after we heard we’ve just won a second AA star for our food.
Following a secret visit from an AA inspector last week, the pub now sits alongside just 34 public houses across the entire UK that have been awarded two AA stars.
Speaking after his clandestine checks, the AA inspector said of our culinary fare: “The food and service marry together perfectly, creating a beautiful and relaxed experience. You’ve hit the nail on the head, the atmosphere is great and there’s a really good buzz.”
Landlord Jim commented: “We’re over the moon. We have an amazing team with special praise to our chefs, James, Andrew, Daryl and Andy. It’s certainly put us in the celebrating spirit.”
The AA also has also maintained its four star rating to the B&B rooms and praised the recent refurbishments, which now include a further two ensuite rooms bringing the total to five.
