The Ebrington Arms
Wins North Cotswold’s Pub of the Year

The Ebrington Arms has just been awarded the coveted title, North Cotswold’s Pub of the Year by CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale).

The award sees Claire and Jim Alexander, who have only been at the helm for just over two years, take on and beat the 88 other hopeful pubs in the region.

Landlord Jim commented; “Brilliant news! We heard a rumour but thought as we’d only been in the trade for a couple of years we wouldn’t get it. It’s great to be recognised by CAMRA, thanks to them and our punters who must love the pub and the beer as much as us!”

Roger Price, North Cotswolds CAMRA chairman was one of the judges visiting the top three pubs in the final, all vying for the Pub of the Year title.

His group decided that The Ebrington Arms had the “wow” factor and was a hit with the locals and was likely to impress any visitor.

Roger described the pub as an “unstoppable train”. He commented; “All beer was of a great quality. There’s a lively mixed crowd and all the locals provided good feedback on a dramatically improved pub run by enthusiastic landlords. What is particularly unique is that Jim and Claire not only got into the top ten pubs but also achieved the title in the same year.”

The Ebrington Arms will now automatically go through to the next stage in a bid to win the title for the South-West.
